31. Testing Miss Toogood - Stella Cameron

Fleur Toogood is the daughter of a poor country Pastor and his wife. When a friend of her mother, the Dowager Marchioness of Granville, takes Fleur under her wing to introduce her to London's elite, Fleur feels its her duty to agree and find a suitable match to better her family. Under the protection of the Dowager Marchioness' son, Lord Dominic Elliot, Fleur makes a list of requirements for potential suitors. With Dominic's help, she sets about finding the perfect husband. At first gruding the task of being Fleurs escort, Dominic sets out to introduce Fleur to all eligible bachelors of London society. However, Dominic ends up feeling like more than a chaperone and can't stand the thought of Fleur with anyone else. Fleur reads Dominic her list and he answers all her questions perfectly... unfortunalty Dominic has a few requirements of his own and doesn't feel worthy of Fleur. The two try their hardest to fight their feelings for each other, feeling that what they're doing is for the benefit of the other person, but in the end love conquers all.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, this is one of the predictable romances. I told myself I wouldn't read any more books like this, but I can't help it! I love romance novels (not for all the smutty details, which thankfully this one didn't have too many of, but for the love story). Call me a sucker. Like I said, it was predictable, but still enjoyable.
