I've been looking back on the books I read last year and I am having a hard time finding ones I didn't really like. I found a lot of new authors, my favorites being Shannon Hale and Stephenie Meyer. I really enjoyed The Goose Girl, a cute story about 16-year-old Princess Ani of Kildenree who is betrayed by Selia, her jealous and evil lady-in-waiting, causing her to take refuge as a goose girl while plotting how to reclaim her rightful place as the bride-to-be of the Prince of Bayern. I was sad to see the ending of the Harry Potter series, but the last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was so well written that I couldn't complain about it being the end of a great series. Honorable mention goes to These Is My Words: The Diary of Sarah Agnes Prine, 1881-1901. I loved reading about all the trials and hard work that Sarah had to endure. But my all time favorite has to be the Twilight series. I could not put these books down. I was gripped from beginning to end (althought the middle book, New Moon, was a little drawn out and not as good as the other two) and cannot wait for the next book, Breaking Dawn, to come out in August.
So many good books are coming out this year - can't wait to read them!
