Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable. She's made a mistake so huge, it'll wreck any chance of a partnership. Going into utter meltdown, she walks out of her London office, gets on a train, and ends up, in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she's mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered a job as housekeeper. Her employers have no idea they've hired a lawyer; and Samantha has no idea how to work the oven. She can't sew on a button, bake a potato, or get the #@%# ironing board to open. How she takes a deep breath and begins to cope - and finds love - is a story as delicious as the bread she learns to bake. But will her old life ever catch up with her? And if it does - will she want it back?
Cute, cute, cute! This was definitely an easy read. I don't understand too much about the legal world, so when all the lawyer stuff was going on I didn't understand what it all meant, but when Samantha became a housekeeper I had such a laugh reading about all her mistakes! I have a hard time believing that Samantha doesn't know ANYTHING about cooking or cleaning... but it was funny to read all about her mishaps. I enjoyed Nathaniel the gardener and of course was pleased with the ending. There was some pretty foul language in this book, though, and I didn't like that at all. Samantha Sweeting has a cute last name, but that is definitely the way she speaks! Anyway, I love funny romance novels like this so it was right up my alley.
I am excited to read the rest of Sophie Kinsella's book (my sister Lisa first introduced me to her books). Confessions of a Shopaholic is waiting for me at the library right now...

Ahh, Sophie Kinsella, how I love your books! Since finishing everything you've written, I am going through serious withdrawals. Whatever am I going to do?
Seriously, though, I'd give anything for another Sophie Kinsella book right about now. I've had A Thousand Splendid Suns for six weeks and haven't been able to get past page 135 yet! I may return it unread.
How are you liking the Shopaholic books?
Ahh, I see. Just saw your ratings on Goodreads. Glad you like them!
